Lake District Summer Music

Lake District Summer Music combines one of the leading classical music festivals and summer schools in the UK.

CNJ Media were asked to step in just five weeks from the start of the 2007 festival taking over from their in-house marketing activity. Our responsibility was to establish LDSM within the local community and communicate the sheer size and benefit to the local economy, whilst making sure the event achieved national exposure..

The website was the first marketing tool used to communicate with would be festival goers and students attending the International Summer School and Young String venture courses.

Ticket sales rose by 5% during the first year of our involvement and a planned operation commenced to get LDSM onto events listings throughout the UK and abroad.

A complete redesign of all print material was undertaken to represent the relationship between the amazing Lake District landscape and the beautiful music produced by the event.

In 2008 the Festival grew by 9.2% and additional events such as Music for a Foreign Land saw further increases in ticket sales. We are very proud to be associated with Lake District Summer Music.

Festival At A Glance 2009

This four-panel A4+ sized leaflet is the primary marketing print tool for Lake District Summer Music. 90,000 are printed and distributed. Designed by CNJ Media, this year's version now includes an enhanced listing format with prices to aid decision making on ticket purchases.

Promotional Film

Categories:

CNJ Media filmed, directed and produced this short promotional video during the 2007 LDSM International Music Festival for a presentation to the Lever Prize judges in 2008. The video was broadcast during 2008 on the ITV Local website and has also been distributed on DVD to press and media.

Incidentally, Lake District Summer Music were runners-up in the 2008 Lever Prize to Tate Liverpool.

The LDSM website - www.ldsm.org.uk - was originally taken over by CNJ Media in 2007 and has undergone almost constant development since then. The site takes advantage of modern web design skills delivering a search engine friendly site, as the increased Google ranking and traffic stats prove. Users have reported an improved experience and the site has played a major role in delivering improved ticket sales for the 2007 and 2008 Festivals. 2009 will hopefully see a content management system installed to improve back-end administration and online ticket sales.
